First Motorcycle Airbag
What company other than Honda would spend 15 years of Research & Development to create the industry’s first airbag? It’s this level of commitment to rider safety that sets Honda apart from other motorcycle manufacturers.
The airbag-equipped Gold Wing boasts the industry's first (and only) production motorcycle airbag system, which can help lessen the severity of injuries caused by frontal collisions. Four sensors mounted on the front fork detect changes in acceleration caused by a frontal impact, and send that data to an ECU computer. If the ECU determines that a serious collision is in progress, it instantly instructs the airbag to deploy from a panel in the dash area. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
Honda offers Anti-lock Braking Systems as standard equipment on more of our motorcycle models than any other manufacturer – from our top-of-the-line touring bikes to our entry model bikes. Honda’s Combined Braking System with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) creates the optimal balance of front and rear braking forces and the control of an advanced ABS system that helps you stop with confidence on even wet or dirty road surfaces. Honda has also pioneered the Electronically Controlled Combined ABS – the world's first electronically controlled braking system for super sport bikes. The system is specially designed to electronically distribute front and rear braking forces to maximize braking in a light-weight, short-wheelbased package.

Single-cylinder 125cc SOHC four-stroke engine packs a perfect blend of performance with impressive fuel efficiency plus accessible and fun all-around ability. The engine uses low-friction technology such as an offset cylinder and a roller rocker arm for the valve gear. Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) offers excellent throttle response over a wide range of riding conditions by continuously monitoring several variables to ensure the correct fuel mixture for the existing riding and atmospheric conditions. The four-speed gearbox is managed via a manual clutch and offers smooth and consistent gear changes. Compact chassis features a sturdy steel frame. Telescopic inverted 31mm front fork, like a full-size motorcycle, delivers 3.9 inches of well-controlled travel. Steel box-section rear swingarm and a sturdy single shock yield 4.1 inches of comfortable rear wheel travel. Single front 220mm disc with hydraulic dual-piston caliper and single rear 190mm disc with hydraulic single-piston caliper deliver strong stopping power. Compact 47.4-inch wheelbase and light curb weight of 225 pounds results in amazing agility to boost rider confidence. LCD digital dash includes speedometer, odometer/A&B tripmeters, clock and fuel gauge. Available in Pearl Red and Metallic Black.
